After 1 month of use: Peforms well. Very good cleaning of dishes. Very low noise. The feature "Auto Air", that opens the door automatically at the end of the cycle, extends the the time of operation for about one extra hour with no apparent improvement in the drying of the dishware. I would not recommend this feature. I called Bosch for technical help and they are very difficult to reach.

1. Cutlery in the top 3rd rack does not clean well. Probably because water flow is stopped by the items in the 2nd mid rack. We removed it and use the cutlery box in the first bottom rack with better results. In addition, the removal of the top 3rd rack allows for more and larger items to be loaded in the 2nd mid rack. 2. "Auto Air" adds 1 hour to the washing cycle with no significant improvement to the drying.

Don't like the stainless steel interior - looks dirty all the time, prefer white. Don't like the door having to be pulled down with effort every time I add any items. Don't like all the movable "prongs" that supposedly support various items. Don't like the device that pulls down to support wine glasses - useless. Don't like that the door needs to be open in order to set the dishwasher cycle, then shut it, and can't see the lights on when it's running. Takes WAY too long for a normal cycle to complete. It is quiet, however. Nothing else good to say about it.

I have owned many different brands od dishwashers, even a Bosch years ago> this is by far the worst. It stinks! No matter what I do, clean out the filter, use vinegar and baking soda, etc. It still stinks. It is a poor design and should be recalled. Water sits in the drain. You can hear it drain when you start the dishwasher. Also, the auto dry (the door pops open) doesn't work. The dishes are still wet. I want my money back.

This dishwasher is super quiet. It cleans pretty well. I like the top rack. It is nice that you can put your irregular items up there. I like the automatically open feature. The only complaint that I have is that I wish the door had a small light that says if it was clean like others.

Quiet machine, and cleans very, very well. Steep learning curve to operate it. So many options, many unclear. If using "DELAY," it seems impossible to know if the machine will actually come on at the stipulated hour. Loading is complicated (to me). Manual that came with it inadequate; I had to download the complete manual from the Bosch website.

After about 5 months of use the door began to pop open in the middle of a cycle. It began occuring infrequently and it has now progressed to the point it happens almost every use. Calls to support suggested we might be stacking dishes in front of a vent opening. We have been very careful to avoid this opening but the situation has only grown worse. It now happens almost every time we use the diswasher.

These are not cheap but they sure work great. The control panel is a bit intimidating to learn but once you get it figured out its fine. There is a bit of an issue with smells however. Apparently water in the basin can get rancid if you don't run the washer often enough. Holds a lot of dishes -- cleans fantasticly -- and it is COMPLETELY quiet. The only way you know its running is from a lazer light that shines on the floor. It even opens by itself when the dishes are done to help them dry.

I am appreciating my new appliance after using it a bit. I'm learning the best Placement of articles and which settings work best. I like the in-use light and the audio cycle end tone. I attempted to enable the auto door opening at cycle end but was unsuccessful at that. I'll have to contact tech support for guidance as I'm quite sure it is a feature offered on my product. I am curious as to whether I would like this feature. Results from the washing cycles appear very satisfactory and the heat generated by the operation seems sufficient to allow for quick drying at the end, after opening the door or leaving it closed overnight (which I rarely do).

We researched or Bosch 500 dishwasher before buying it and felt confident it would be the best replacement for our old one, however we've been disappointed that it didn't come with a manual to instruct us how to use it. When I finally downloaded the necessary pages to get it to work, it was still confusing and the fishes were sometimes still dirty and always still soaking wet when the cycle ended. After trying numerous buttons to try, we eventually figured out the secret. Finally, it seems to be working as we expected, but it's left a bad taste in our mouths (no pun intended). Ask for directions about how to use it and write them down, then ask them to download the manual for you, Good luck.

Clean Quiet, & Stinky

After two uses, it began to smell awful. It cleaned the dishes and was quiet but I had to to a sanitizing load with vinegar followed by leaving baking soda in overnight and running another empty load to get rid of the smell. I changed settings to allow for highest dry time, rinse time and auto air at the end of the cycle but the inside is still soaking wet at the end of the load. I have to take a towel and dry it by hand after each load to keep the smell from coming back.

Quiet but Complicated

If you are tech savy, then this dishwasher will work for you! We have waited seven months before writing a review for this dishwasher as it has taken us this long to learn how to use it. We have yet to try all the cycles! Be sure to note the serial number before installation as it is on the right side interior edge of the door & may not be easily visible after installation. If we keep to "Auto" and "Auto Air," it works fine for us. If we make a mistake and need to restart the selections or choose another cycle, we are lost although we were just recently able to use the "Speed 60" cycle effectively whereas in the past it kept stopping mid-cycle for some unknown reason. The videos and helps online helped us a lot as the Quick Start & Safety Guide was insufficient. When the dishwasher is running, the display screen is blank so we have no idea what cycle was chosen or in which part of the cycle it is in at any given time. Of course, if it were installed tucked all the way in under the counter, we would not be able to see it anyhow. So when the dishwasher suddenly stops for any unknown reason, we cannot see what the problem is on the digital display. The racks are flimsy and are easily dislodged from their tracks and difficult to get back in place when loaded with dishes. We learned that the "On/Off" switch is not a toggle switch. Small cups, small bowls, and the like placed upside down on the very top rack (the third rack) don't get clean as there is no sprayer arm under it. If the dishes on the upper rack are blocking the third rack, the third rack items will not get clean from the bottom. We do like the third rack for flat items though. One other factor is that the year's warranty is based on the purchase date, not the actual date of delivery which was delayed by four months due to the company's backorder status due to Covid-19. On the plus side, it is super quiet and cleans well for which we are thankful!

This is the best dishwasher I've ever used. I love the third rack. I didn't realize how much room my large utensils had been taking, and they fit on the third rack. The adjustable tines help me fit awkward shaped dishes in the rack. I find the spacing and angle of the tines for plates much better than my previous dishwasher. The wash cycle is quiet and efficient. I set the dishwasher to automatically pop open after the cycle is finished to facilitate drying. I'm still learning what all the cycles do, but I'm very pleased with the cleaning job this dishwasher does. I frequently use the delayed wash function in the evening. I really like the adjustable racks.

We've had the BOSCH 500 Series Dishwasher for 3 months and continue to be very pleased with it. It's very quiet and does an excellent job of cleaning. Controls are easy to understand and disappear when the door is closed. We like several of the added features such as: door opens at the end of a cycle to allow natural drying, operating indicator light pointed to the floor (instead of one more harsh LED light in your kitchen), and the 3rd upper rack for silverware. Overall, a great appliance, well thought out and well made.

Five years ago when our family spent several days in a vacation rental, we became enamored of its Bosch dishwasher--its quiet, efficient manner of operation--and we vowed that whenever our then current dishwasher gave up the ghost, we'd replace it with a Bosch. Now that has happened and we're elated with our new 500 Series dishwasher. It's quiet, exceptionally well-designed in its interior and it delivers clean dishes and silverware every time...and, thanks to its Auto Air feature, everything comes out totally dry as well. When it was time to replace our 22 year old Maytag, the sales person was very high on this Bosch 500. We love how quiet it is however it really takes some getting used to the loading/arrangement of dishes. It just doesn't seem to work as well as our old one. Dishwashers these days seem a lot more tempermental than machines of 20 years ago, needing special dish tabs and finish and regular cleaning of the filter. The automatic door, which is supposed to pop open seems tempermental and doesn't always work. While we may grow to love it, the verdict is still out.

I love the new dishwasher. The third rack is great. I'm still trying to figure out all of the different options with the adjustable tines. The only issue so fare is the wine glass holder. The glasses tend to fall over when the rack is moved. Some of my glasses so not fit anywhere on the middle rack.

Working Fine So Far

We've only been using the appliance for about a month so this would be an initial review. We're pleased with the operation: dishes, pots,and glassware are clean and with the door opening feature everything except the plastics are dry. It doesn't make a of noise in general but there are occasional strange noises. Only improvements I could suggest at this point is to split the basket in two to make more room on the bottom rack when needed and change the layout of the tines on the top rack to allow for better fit for glassware.

I like it. It's super quiet, you don't even know it's running, and it gets the dishes really clean. We like the third tray, too, that's a great feature. I struggle with getting things on the middle rack, cups, glasses, etc., to sit at enough of an angle so they don't get water built up on the bottoms, though, and I don't like that the Auto Air function is off by default and has to be turned on for every use. Overall, though, it's vastly superior to our previous Whirlpool machine.

We love our bosch dishwasher. The top 3rd rack and adjustable racks are game changers! Our dishes ALWAYS come out perfectly clean and dry. We use the auto cycle and the auto air function. We run our dishwasher every single day. It's nice to keep the silverware on the top rack which leaves room for big pots and pans on the bottom rack without the silverware bin.

I used reviews and prices to guide my purchase. It replaced a very old machine. The differences are wonderful. I don't need to run lots of water to rinse dishes and utensils in advance. I just scrape and load. As drinker of tea and coffee, my cups, glasses and teapot were permanently stained. To my surprise and delight, the stains are gone! This weekend I tried a new setting to get baked on food off some Pyrex baking pans. It's all gone. And all of the takes place in my now-quiet kitchen. To be sure I know whether the dishwasher is running, I check the little red light shining on the floor.
