Beautiful appliance, controls are on top of door so hidden when closed. They are few and straight forward, although I had to review them the first couple of wash loads to learn the difference between Normal and Auto, for example. One set of plate holders out of two on bottom drawer are collapsable; a second parallel with the first set should be but aren't. Essentially, the entire bottom rack is plate holder slots, causing difficulty placing pans as flat as would be most beneficial. Large deep cereal bowls are a problem, because those bowls are forced by plate holder prongs to lean so much, no bowl ever allows another to lean against it. That reduces the number of those bowls that can be washed if the second rack is pretty full. Second rack is shallower, although it can be adjusted up and down. It also has collapsable plate holders. Side row with tilt down small item holders is very narrow, so even glasses don't fit. Not sure what the designers had in mind. Opposite side row is larger, but with as many glasses as we use, space is quickly exhausted, and no other real option exists for glasses except to awkwardly stand them held in place by plate holder prongs. Wine glasses are problem with no place to stand them upside down stablely; 2nd rack has to be very gingerly openned and closed so those glasses don't fall over and break against others. Third (top) rack is very shallow, intended for larger utensils like tongs, large spoons, etc., which is very nice. I have a frying pan splatter shield I place up there, and it always comes out clean. I finally took to heart the 'don't rinse' capability modern dishwashers have, and I scrape and place dirty dishes in the device with fingers crossed. They always come out clean as can be, so lot's of rinse water is saved, which I am very happy about. Finally, the appliance is scary quiet! So quiet that Bosch placed a downward pointing red light on the bottom of the door, whose beam shows on the floor. That's how you know the appliance is running! Finally, I'm not sure the dishes not getting very dry without being set on "Extended Dry" is a problem for this particular appliance, because I've never had a dishwasher that truly got dishes fully dry. Even then, there's always water on something, so you have to be prepared to dry something even if nearly everything seems dry. And, any container top, plastic cup, or small bowl shaped utensil that is light weight will be upended in the cycle, filling with water and dripping on everything below if you don't notice and gingerly remove it for drying. All in all, we waited months to get this appliance, which replaces our former Bosch of 20 years, and that was due to the supply chain issues. But, it is a beautiful product, does a great job despite less than ideal rack designs, and it certainly upholds the excellent reputation Bosch has.
